About Us

Who We Are

Our Story
First Baptist Church Hico was organized in 1861, and for more than 160 years we’ve been preaching the Truth, proclaiming the gospel, loving our neighbors, and serving the Hico community. We celebrate our heritage, but we believe the best is still ahead as we follow Christ together.

Our Vision
We long to see God use our church to reach and raise up generations of committed Christ-followers who will impact the world for His glory

Our Mission
We are a simple church with a simple mission: to be the Body of Christ here in Hico. Everything we do flows from our desire to Love God, Love Others, and Make disciples.

Our Commitments
-Loving God – We regularly gather for worship, lifting our voices and hearts together in praise.
-Loving Others – We diligently use our God-given gifts and resources to serve one another and meet the needs of our community.
-Making Disciples – We faithfully grow in Christ through deep Bible study, fellowship, and walking together through life.

Our Vision

We believe God can use our local church body in a powerful way to restore hope, reach the lost, and foster the spiritual growth in the followers of Jesus. Our vision is to see multiple generations reached for Christ and raised up to walk in the fullness of the new life offered through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to bring glory to His name.

What We Do

We gather regularly to worship & praise God, learn & apply HIs Word to our lives, fellowship as part of the Body of Christ, and serve our community in a way that exemplifies and points to Jesus. We offer discipleship opportunities through our youth ministry, children ministry, and adult bible study groups for men and women of all ages.

Our Community

Hico is a small town, but we serve a big God. We believe God has a plan for every person who comes through our doors. You will be welcomed in to join us as we encourage and challenge each other to live lives that reflect faith and allegiance to Jesus Christ our Lord.
